Over time, and often across full days spent with Ann Hamilton’s installation We Will Sing at Salts Mill, Ali’s attention shifted from recording discrete moments for documentation to listening to the space as accumulation.

Through the materials and sounds of the installation vibrations in the walls and floor, footsteps, movement, and traces of presence Ali began to recognise a continuous field: an atmosphere inseparable from both the work and those who had passed through the building.
