Work of coastal landscapes and the ecological relationships that shape it.
The photographs were shot on Mummy 400 black and white 35mm film, made from 16mm motion picture film emulsion, so it has a different character from typical still photography films. It's coated on a traditional triacetate base, which is the same type of flexible film base used in many old cinema films. Chosen for unmistakable character, the rich grain and tonal response compliment Orkney’s rugged landscape and prehistoric monuments, lending a sense of timelessness and atmosphere that is difficult to replicate.
